Now she keeps indoors with the stay-safe guile but
Why’s her vision going blurry after they say “smile”?
Strange customers, ponies in glasses and they fuck with her
Rarely buying anything, trade papers, a muttered search
Playing deaf at counter’s a great labor, a dozen words
Something bout an agent or someone that left and wasn’t heard
Wasn’t cursed, out-of-towners leave within a week
Discrete, Lyra comes to tea, releasing of the steam
And speaks, like proverbially she’s kneeling, in her teeth
